Stephen McConnell, Psy.D., ABPP 

A graduate of Baylor University, Dr. Stephen McConnell is Professor Emeritus and one of the first individuals in the United States to hold the Psy.D.  He is a diplomate in clinical psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology.  As Administrator of the Human Relations Department, Tulsa Public Schools, he helped desegregate that system.  Later, Dr. McConnell practiced rural psychology in the Smokey Mountains.  His interests include the education of professional psychologists, the theory and personality of the psychotherapist, the psychological dimensions of peace work, and rural community life.  Dr. McConnell has been published in journals such as Professional Psychology:  Research and Practice, American Psychologist, Voices, and Psychotherapy in Private Practice.
