Time Limitation for Degree Completion

All requirements for the Psy.D. degree must be completed within seven years of the date the student is admitted to the School of Professional Psychology.

Students may petition the faculty for an extension in the time limitation of up to two years. Petitions for additional time to complete the degree must be submitted to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at least three months prior to the end of the seven year time limit. Petitions for extension of the time limitation must receive the support of a majority of the fully-affiliated faculty in order to be granted.

Students who do not complete the degree requirements within the seven year time frame will automatically be dismissed from the program unless an extension in time is granted. For students who are granted an extension in time to complete the degree, failure to complete all requirements within the extended time period will result in automatic dismissal from the program.
