Joann Wright Mawasha if one of four winners for APA’s Division 52 2010 Student International Research Award for her dissertation: The Experience of Living with HIV/AIDS in the Bahamas: A Qualitative Study.
Kacey Greening and Jenna Clemenz each have articles appearing in the July/August 2010 issue of The National Psychologist. Jenna's article provides a perspective on impairment and Kacey Greening's reflects on our diversity training.
Congratulations to Erin Farr, Stephanie Gemmer, Dustin Hamilton, Jessica Heschel, John Lodge and Anne Willis who just had their papers accepted at the American Evaluation Association Conference which will be held in November in San Antonio, Texas.
These same students presented some of their findings at the Ohio Program Evaluator's Group in Columbus in May.
Dr James Dobbins was featured as one of the area psychologists providing expert adivice on parenting teens in the Sunday "Life and Arts" section of the paper.
Dr Rando has successfully completed all
of the rigorous requirements for the ABPP (Board Certification by the
American Board of Professional Psychology) in Counseling Psychology.
Dr. Betty Yung was featured in a Channel 2 News report about youth violence. Her interview aired on the May 11th's evening news and the May 12th's morning news - it is also on the Channel 2 News website.
Please join me in congratulating Anna Fedotova for being selected to receive the University's Graduate Student Excellence Award for 2010 representing the School of Professional Psychology. Anna received her award at a ceremony on Wednesday, May 5th. The program noted the following:
Anna Fedotova, Clinical Psychology Psy.D. Program (Doctor of Psychology). Anna Fedotova is an exemplary student who demonstrates excellent skills in oral and written expression, as well as an appreciation of the importance of diversity in clinical psychology practice. She has strong academic and case conceptualization skills, and is a team player in working well with faculty, staff, and students. Ms. Fedotova developed her outstanding clinician skills through clinical work in settings serving diverse groups of adults and children in the Dayton area. In addition to her study of professional psychology, Anna is also nearing completion of her Master’s in Public Health with a concentration in Emergency Preparedness. Her professional dissertation addresses Cross-Cultural Adaptations of the Train-the-Trainer Model for First Responders to Disaster and Terrorism. Her work included two trips to Northern Israel for consultation and data collection. Ms. Fedotova’s adviser is Dr. J. Scott Fraser.
