2012 Updates/News: Richards, M., Moor, T., Virzi, J., Bak, B., & Malloy, K. (2012, March) Feminism and adolescent girls. Structured discussion at the Association of Women in Psychology Conference, Palm Springs, CA. Dr Julie Williams presented on disability at the APA Consolidated Public Directorate meetings in DC. Hannah Gammon has been selected as a recipient of the American College Counseling Association (ACCA) Emerging Leader award. This award recognizes individuals who are considered to be up-and-coming leaders within the profession of college counseling. Responsibilities include serving on one of the ACCA's twelve committees for at least a year, writing an article for publication in the ACCA's newsletter, and delivering a presentation (as well as attending business meetings and trainings) at the Sixth Annual ACCA Conference (October 2012 - Orlando, Florida). Gammon's presentation is entitled "Enhancing the Experience of University Students with Mental Illness: Related Issues and Recommendations." Dean James has recently been appointed to the American Board of Professional Psychology's 2012 Board of Trustees as a specialty board representative in Clinical Health Psychology. Anne Reagan was appointed student trustee on Wright State University's Board of Trustees for a term ending June 30, 2013. Dr. Warfield and Anne Reagan will be presenting a workshop at the annual Ohio Early Care and Education Conference in April 2012. Dustin Hamilton, Kolina Delgado, and Dr Cheryl Meyer will be presenting a poster session, What suicide notes can tell us about suicide completers, at the 45th AAS Annual Conference April 18-21, 2012. Grover, B., Murray, A., Malloy, K. (2012, March) Training, Mentoring, and Practice Differences in Feminist Orientation Across Doctoral Psychology Training Programs in US. Poster session presented at the Association of Women in Psychology Conference, Palm Springs, CA. Anne is also working with fellow students and Dean James on publishing an article entitled "A Suicide Prevention Program for Children of Deploy Service Members" to be published in a special edition of APA's Division 19 Society for Military Psychology Journal. Publication will have Anne Reagan, Ashley Reno, Erinn Wright and Dr. Larry James listed as authors in that order.
