Biographical Information
Dr.
Meyer, a graduate of Miami University and DePaul University College
of Law, is a professor. Dr. Meyer's areas of expertise are postpartum
depression, infanticide, politics and reproductive rights of women,
forensic psychology, program evaluation, and social/clinical psychology
interface. Her research has an interdisciplinary focus incorporating
legal, feminist, psychological and sociological perspectives. She has
published three books and numerous chapters and journal articles. Dr.
Meyer has been invited to present on a variety of topics such as the
social construction of motherhood, politics and reproductive rights
of women, and maternal filicide. Dr. Meyer is a nationally recognized
expert on mothers who kill their children and has appeared on or been
quoted in national and international news shows, newspapers and magazines.
She has taught courses for the School of Professional Psychology in
statistics and research methodology, social psychology, theories of
personality, and forensic psychology. Dr. Meyer also enjoys collaborative
relationships with faculty from many different departments within Wright
State University and other schools and agencies in the community.
