Biographical Information

Dr. Malloy is experienced in individual and group therapy with a variety of populations. Dr. Malloy’s areas of expertise are feminist therapy, gender issues, and domestic violence. She developed and directs a domestic violence treatment program, housed at the Ellis Institute, that focuses mainly on treatment for batterers. Current areas of scholarship include the therapist’s role in treating violent families, multiculturalism and domestic violence, understanding severely violent relationships, and the training of professional psychologists. Dr. Malloy is past president of Ohio Women in Psychology and a former board member of the Ohio Psychological Association.

Projects:.

* Developed PATH program, a batterers treatment program, in 1990.
PATH currently consists of five treatment groups for male batterers, a group for women who resort to violence, an ongoing psycho-educational program for both male and female inmates in the Montgomery County Jail, and individual treatment when indicated.


* Primary goals are quality services for perpetrators of domestic violence and quality training for graduate students in psychology in working with domestic violence.

* Clinically-based research on domestic violence.
