Biographical Information
Dr. Fraser has formerly served the school in the positions of Director of Internship Training, and as the School's Director of Clinical Training. He is currently a full time faculty member at the rank of professor. Dr. Fraser is a nationally recognized expert in the areas of strategic crisis intervention and brief therapy, as well as strategic and systemic approaches to marriage and family therapy. He is the author of a great number of articles, chapters, and reviews in the family therapy area and is on the editorial board of a number of journals in professional psychology and family therapy. Dr Fraser’s most recent book is Second-Order Change in Psychotherapy: The Golden Thread that Unifies Effective Treatments (2007), addresses integration of evidence supported psychotherapy. Currently, he is involved with an applied research and training team studying an integrative approach to intervention with high risk youth and families called Integrative Families and Systems Treatment or I-FAST. Dr. Fraser also directs the Brief Therapy Center, housed at the South Community Mental Health Center, where he supervises four doctoral trainees and two pre-doctoral interns.
