Areas of Specialization/Interest

Treatment of men's issues; physical aggression victimization/perpetration; sexual aggression victimization/perpetration; vocational/career counseling; and sports related therapy utilizing individual, couples, and group therapeutic modalities. Dr. Rando has research interests in the study of gender, gender role conflict, sexual aggression, supervision, and performance enhancement.

Biographical Information

Dr. Rando is the director of the Center for Psychological Services (CPS) in the Frederick A. White Health Center. Dr. Rando's most recent professional work experience has been as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling and Director of the Counseling Center at Youngstown State University. He has also served as a clinical director for a mental health center and a domestic violence shelter and as a consultant to businesses on sexual harassment issues. His areas of clinical focus are on the treatment of men's issues, physical aggression victimization/perpetration, sexual aggression victimization/perpetration, vocational/career counseling, and sports related therapy utilizing individual, couples, and group therapeutic modalities. His areas of research focus on sexual aggression, gender role conflict, gender issues, supervision, and performance enhancement. He has taught courses in supervision, clinical diagnosis, health and wellness counseling, advanced clinical theories, sexual abuse counseling, counseling issues for male clients, counseling practicum, and diagnostic interviewing. Dr. Rando maintains membership in Division 17 and 51 of the American Psychological Association, and the Association of University and College Counseling Center Directors.
