Predoctoral Internship Program

Internship stipend: $18,000.
Benefits: Liberal time is allowed for vacation, illness, and professional development. The time allotment is as follows:
* Vacation (up to 8 days/yr)
* Personal and Professional Development (up to 2 days/yr)
* Sick (Up to 5 days/yr)
Interns cannot use unspent leave time to leave internship prior to the end of August.
Interns may use all university and school facilities available for students (i.e. libraries, computer facilities, recreational facilities, etc.). Prepaid medical and legal insurance are provided.
Interns are required to purchase their own malpractice/professional liability insurance.
Interns will be required to purchase 1 or 2 reference text manuals.
Miscellaneous program expenses (less than $200.00) maybe required.
Background check is required before matriculation (CPR and First Aid training are also required and will be provided).

Application and Interview Requirements:
Candidates must be enrolled in a doctoral program in clinical, counseling, school psychology, or combined professional psychology. Enrollment in an APA accredited doctoral program is required. All formal coursework and comprehensive exams for the doctorate must be completed. Applicants are encouraged to have completed at least 1000 practicum hours.
The internship program interviews the final pool of candidates in the first two Wednesdays of January. You will be contacted for an interview if you are in this final pool by mid to the 15th of December. Phone interviews will be granted for extenuating circumstances that prohibit a personal visit. The WSU-SOPP internship program is a member in good standing of Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC) and adheres to all of its guidelines regarding application, interviewing, and notification procedures. The WSU-SOPP will participate in the Match program conducted by the National Matching Services. Applicants must provide WSU-SOPP her/his Match Number prior to her/his scheduled interview. No person at WSU-SOPP will solicit, accept, or use any ranking-related information from any applicant prior to Match Day.
