These procedures outline the steps necessary to install Matlab on a Windows computer under the Total Academic Headcount (TAH) license. This TAH license allows you to install Matlab onto your own personal computer if you are currently enrolled in a College of Engineering course and have paid the Student Technology Fee. The steps necessary to install Matlab on a Unix/Linux based machine are similar. For additional help go to http://www.mathworks.com/support.

Before proceeding you must have already received your Matlab Activation Key. If you do not have this key (or need a new one to reactivate) then go to http://www.wright.edu/software/mathworks for instructions.
Step 1: Create your Mathworks account.
Step 2: Associate your Mathworks account with the TAH license.
Step 3: Download, Install, and Activate the product files.
Step 4: Additional Information.
You must create a user account on the Mathworks website to be able to download, install, and activate the software. If you already have a user account because of a previous install then skip to step 2.

The type of license that you are installing Matlab under is called a Total Academic Headcount (TAH) license. This license is valid for one year from when the license is renewed by the University, NOT from when you install Matlab. This license is renewed every year in September.
Throughout the term of your current license, your MATLAB installation periodically contacts MathWorks to verify that your license is up-to-date, a process called validation. If it determines that you need to update your license, the validation process displays a dialog box giving you the option to update your license. What this means is every September you will need to get a new activation key and reactivate your installation of Matlab. See the Prerequisites at the beginning of this document for instructions on how to get your new activation key. Once you have your new activation key, from within Matlab go to Help > Licensing > Activate Software and follow the prompts. If you are not in Matlab you can use Start > Programs > Matlab > matlab_version > Activate Matlab.
To see the ending date of the current installed license you can go to Help> Licensing> Manage Licenses from the Matlab desktop. Log in to your Mathworks account. The current product list information is then displayed.
