Semester Transition Advising
January Progress Update
Semesters Advising Semesters Portal Page Banner
Good Morning and, once again, Greetings from the Office of the Provost! Welcome back to campus. I hope you had an enjoyable and restful holiday season!
We have made it to January 2012, the calendar year in which Wright State University, along with several other Ohio 2-year and 4-year state universities, will be converting from the quarter system to the semester system. In doing this, we will be joining over 90% of the colleges and universities in the United States in the use of this common academic calendar.
There are several important items to highlight right now.
Of most importance: If you have not made an appointment to meet with your Academic Advisor (undergraduate students) or Program Director (graduate students) please do so at your earliest convenience. While Wright State University has done a great deal to make the semester conversion smooth, there will be changes. The undergraduate academic advisor and the graduate program director are the individuals who will be able to give you exact directions and exact materials to help you personally. To ensure that the semester conversion is smooth for you and to ensure the University's Pledge to you, please take advantage of the resources and information available from these individuals.
The fall 2012 schedule of classes is currently being designed, and will be posted online earlier than normal to allow more time for review. The exact release date will be announced in Winter Quarter.
Please continue to visit the Semesters Website for updates and announcements.
If you are interested in hearing about some of the details of what is happening "behind the scenes," I invite you to attend the University's next "General Semester Informational Meeting" to be held at 9:00AM, Friday, January 13, 2012 in E156 Student Union.
Best wishes for the upcoming quarter.
