Since his arrival at Wright State in 2003, Dr. Dewett has developed and taught courses in leadership, creativity and innovation, organizational change and business strategy. His interests include employee creativity, innovation, change, employee motivation, contextual performance, leadership and social issues in business. Dr. Dewett’s work has been widely published in journals such as the Journal of Management,Organization Science, Journal of Creative Behavior, Journal of Managerial Psychology, Creativity & Innovation Management, Competitiveness Review and Creativity Research Journal. He has also contributed to the Handbook of Organizational Change and Innovation and the International Encyclopedia of Organizational Studies. Dr. Dewett currently serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Leadership and Organizational Development. He has been quoted widely in the media including the The New York Times, Business Week, CNN, Chicago Tribune, Dallas Morning News, Sacramento Bee, MSNBC, and the Christian Science Monitor.
Dr. Dewett has received numerous awards for teaching and research including the Wright State University’s Presidential Award for Excellence – Early Career Achievement, the Outstanding Graduate Faculty Teaching Award (twice) and the Dayton Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award. He is an active member of the Academy of Management, Society for Human Resources, American Society for Training, and Development and numerous local professional and service organizations.
Dr. Dewett holds a Ph.D. in Management from Texas A&M University, an MBA from the University of Tennessee, and a B.B.A. from the University of Memphis. Prior to joining the Raj Soin College of Business, Dr. Dewett worked in consulting with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and Ernst & Young focusing on process reengineering and change management. He continues to work with many organizations through speaking, executive development, training and consulting with Fortune 500 companies, government and business associations. |
