Lisa
Crawford, lecturer in the Department of Management in the Raj
Soin College of Business, received the President’s Award for
Excellence as Outstanding Instructor last fall. Last year,
Crawford agreed to be the student advisor for the Department of
Management’s student club, starting student chapters of the
Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Society for
the Advancement of Management (SAM). The SHRM chapter was
recognized for its club achievements, and regional competitions
with SAM students garnered first and second place awards during
the annual National Management Case Competition in 2003.
Crawford’s Leadership Studies class requires students to
complete a project for an organization. She also has led a group
of students on a three-week tour of Japan that included meetings
with business, educational and political leaders.
