WSU Professor Robert Wagley leaving Dayton for Louisville

Robert (Bob) and Lorraine Wagley are leaving Beavercreek where they have lived since 1967, and are moving to Louisville where they will be near their children. Robert was a Professor of Management at the Raj Soin College of Business from 1969 until his retirement from teaching in 1995.

Bob served twice as Retiree Association president and has been an active member on the board since his retirement. He and his wife Lorraine have also been very active with the Beavercreek Historical Society, where Bob served as Vice President and Lorraine as Chair of Acquisitions.

One of Bob and Lorraine’s great initiatives has been the writing group he has lead since 2000 on writing one’s life stories. The title of the class is “Your Life, One Story at a Time” it has inspired dozens of people to write stories and several to publish their stories into books.

After retirement, he has taught overseas in Italy, Germany, Chile, and the Wagleys have frequently traded their home with overseas visitors from England, Wales, The Netherlands, Norway, Belgium. They have hosted year abroad high school students from Sweden, New Zealand, Spain and The Phillipines and university students from Germany, Sweden and China.

They sincerely say they are going to miss all of the friends in the Dayton area but look forward to making new friends in Louisville and becoming active in that community.
