The Wright State Men’s Basketball team along with Head Coach Scott Nagy, other staff, and Dayton-area residents all volunteered Saturday at a shoe distribution with Samaritan’s Feet.

They served 200 individuals by washing their feet and giving them a new pair of shoes.

“It’s just a great opportunity to get involved in our community, it’s a lot of people here that need our help,” said Mark Hughes, Wright State Guard. “It makes us all feel really good that we’re doing something special here.”

To raise awareness for the event and the mission of Samaritan’s Feet, Coach Nagy and others coached in their bare feet during the game last night. This is the eleventh season Coach Nagy has coached barefoot.

This is the third year Coach Nagy and his team have served with Samaritan’s Feet in the Dayton-area.

“The smile on an adult or child who’s received the gift of a new pair of shoes thanks to the kindness of strangers never gets old,” said Denise Blomberg, Samaritan’s Feet.

So far in 2018, Samaritan’s Feet has distributed over 60,000 pairs of shoes across the U.S. and 1,800 in Ohio.
