Nineteen showed up on a warm day for the History, Mystery, Mayhem and Murder Tour at Woodland Cemetery on Sept. 20.

The presentation included tales of Dayton’s own bank robbers, counterfeiters and murderers. Who murdered pretty 18-year-old Christena Kett?  The crime was unsolved until her mother confessed on her deathbed!

And, we learned about G. Elizabeth Richter, a well-known and highly successful “Madam” who was the largest single donor to the Flood Relief of 1913.

The group also saw the gravesites of the Wright Brothers, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Erma Bombeck, John Patterson and Col. Edward Deeds, among others.
