The Historical Preservation project is considered by many members to be the most important activity conducted by the WSU Retirees Association.
In this ongoing project that began in 2001 under the auspices of the late Lewis Shupe, 38 faculty, administrators, staff and students have been interviewed, beginning with Don Mohr, the first Athletic Director and the first head of Financial Aid.
The interviews are available in written form and may be download to your computer, and most all are also available in video form. The online link to the collection will be found on the WSURA website at Historical Preservation under Activities and Service.
The most recent interview is of Lorna Dawes by Gary Barlow, but it requires additional processing before being added to the collection.
Dan Abrahamowicz is now the chair of the Historical Preservation committee and is assisted by Gary Barlow, Gail Whitaker, and Abe Bassett. Archivist Chris Wydman is an ex officio member of the committee.
