DDN: Motion Picture’s Doc Night slated for Thursday, Nov. 18

Student filmmakers

Excerpt from the Dayton Daily News

For more than 30 years, the Wright State University Motion Picture’s Doc Night has premiered the best student short documentaries from its prestigious program.

And this year’s screening returns in-person at the Creative Arts Center for one night only — Thursday, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. There will also be an online matinee on Saturday, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., on YouTube. The screenings are free, and donations will be accepted.

Audience members and filmmakers are required to wear masks and observe university COVID-19 protocols.

Students spend an entire semester learning the art form and producing different types of documentaries in the process. They learn essential skills that help train them to become future filmmakers. Doc Night will feature 11 documentary films screened a little under two hours with an intermission. Then there will be a Q&A session with the students after the screening.
