From the WSU Alumni Association

The Wright State University Alumni Association will offer Alumni College on Saturday, August 4, 2018, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the WSU Student Union. WSU retirees are eligible to attend.

Alumni College offers an opportunity to enjoy the college learning experience again and to sample the recent research and academic courses of Wright State's distinguished faculty. When you're not in class, you’ll be able to mingle with your fellow "classmates" who make up a broad spectrum of Wright State alumni from various class years, majors, and regions.

Topics and presenters will include:

  • The Revealing History of Facial Hair — Christopher Oldstone-Moore, Senior Lecturer and Assistant to the Chair for Graduate Studies
  • The Disappearance of the Irwin Neighborhood — Hadley Drodge, Assistant Curator at the National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center, Wilberforce, Ohio
  • Emotional Coping: Combating Toxic Stress with Wellness — Adrianne Johnson, Faculty Member for Clinical Mental Health Counseling and President of the Ohio Counseling Association
  • Finding Your Roots: Intro to Genealogy — Bill Stolz, Archivist, Reference and Outreach
  • Political Polarization and the 2018 Election — Lee Hannah, Assistant Professor of Political Science
  • Forensic DNA Profiling: What roles should computers play in making judgement calls? — Dan Krane, Professor of Biological Sciences

The fee of $30 includes a continental breakfast, full lunch, snacks and beverages throughout the day.  Participants will experience today's state-of-the-art classrooms and facilities.

Due to budget and space considerations, registration is limited to the first 25 people to sign up. For more information or to sign up, visit the Alumni Association website.
