PARABLE

After long wait
willing priest
wedding feast
acceptant state
some prate hate
their lamps burn out
mine will be lit
to celebrate.

OCTOBER ROSEBUSH

Brown spots mar leaves already turned to gold,
but buds red-tipped and edged survive mild frost,
scant time to grieve about live green now lost
just drive to bloom before the bitter cold.
