I want to share information about an activity I have enjoyed and think you may also enjoy.

It is the “Unwin(e)ed Book Club, sponsored by the Friends of he Library, and organized and moderated by Mandy Shannon, WSU Librarian for the Humanities.

Mandy chooses the books, preferring debut novels or new releases that would be considered literary fiction. Mandy also provides us with some background on the book and author and then just lets us talk. Everyone participates and our discussions are quite lively.

There is a ranage of ages of the 10 to 15 folks who attend and it is interesting to hear the diverse views of different generations.DSC_0451.JPG

We meet at the Beavercreek Winan’s Fine Chocolates and Coffees at 5:30 pm on the first Thursday every other month. Winan’s is at 3510c Pentagon Blvd.

We have enjoyed our discussions so much that we have prevailed upon Mandy to add two additional meetings this year

The next meeting will be on May 7, 2015. The book for this meeting is A Song for Issy Bradley by Cargs Bray.
