There have been recent changes to the Post 9/11 GI Bill that may affect the benefits of current and future Wright State students. Please click on the link above for more information.
Welcome to the Office of Veterans Affairs! We are located in the Student Union, Room E244. We are here to assist veterans and other eligible students in establishing the GI Bill and other educational benefits for which they qualify. We can also assist eligible students in establishing Ohio residency for tuition purposes. We provide information about the services available to veterans both on and off campus. The office represents the interests of veterans in the campus community.
If you are the spouse or child of (1) a veteran who is permanently and totally disabled as a result of a service-connected injury, or (2) a veteran who has died from an injury that is service connected, we can assist you in establishing the educational benefit for which you are eligible.
Whether you are a new student or a transfer student and you are eligible to receive VA education benefits, we invite you to come to the Office of Veteran Affairs to begin the application process. The first time you apply for your benefits as a Wright State student, you will need to complete several forms.
What forms do you need to fill out?
Select the category that best fits your situation and complete the all forms that are listed for that category. Bring all completed forms to the Office of Veterans Affairs at Wright State University, located in E 244 Student Union.
All students receiving educational benefits must complete the Veterans Enrollment Report each term. If you change your major or your class schedule or completely withdraw after you have submitted this form, you will need to complete the add/drop card to the WSU Office of Veteran Affairs.
We are required to certify your enrollment each quarter with the VA. Failure to report any schedule or major changes to the WSU VA Office, may result in an overpayment, which the VA will require you to pay back.
Additional Information
Advance Payment is intended to help students meet school-related and other expenses which are concentrated at the beginning of the term. All students, except those receiving benefits through Chapter 31 and 33, are eligible to receive advance pay.
A veteran, serviceperson, reservist, or other eligible person, enrolled at a half-time rate or more, initially enters training, or reenters training after an interval of one full calendar month or more, and the student is not eligible for an interval payment, he or she may elect in writing to be paid in advance for the first initial month or fraction thereof in which the quarter will begin plus the amount payable for the following month.
*Students must apply for advance pay at least 30 days and not more than 120 days before the beginning of the quarter.
