The Department of Modern Languages offers majors leading to the bachelor of arts degree in Spanish, German, and French. Study abroad is strongly encouraged for students majoring in modern languages.
- Students who wish to earn licensure to teach French or Spanish in Ohio schools are required to complete the Bachelor of Arts in respective language. Candidates will complete the graduate-level program in the College of Education and Human Services for licensure and the prerequisite education courses and school placements*.
- Minors are available in French, German, Spanish, Chinese studies, and Russian studies. Additionally basic courses in Arabic, Italian, Japanese, and Portuguese are offered.
