Program Type:
Major

Industrial engineering is about choices and figuring out how to do things better. Professional industrial engineers perform a wide variety of tasks, such as developing web-based distribution systems, managing the design and production of new products, and implementing quality control processes.

  • Six areas of specialization are offered: human integrated systems, operations management, ergonomic systems, computer science, materials science and engineering, and honors.
  • In a recently updated Jobs Rated Almanac, industrial engineering ranked highest among all engineering disciplines for desirability as a profession.
