Program Type:
Major

Computer engineering is the analysis and design of computer systems, including the study of basic electronics, digital circuits, computer hardware, algorithms and data structures, programming languages, numerical and symbolic computation, operating systems, networking, software methodology, artificial intelligence, and robotics.

  • The computer engineering major is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and offers concentrations in general computer engineering, wireless architecture, and wireless software.
  • Externally funded research of more than $4 million is being conducted by faculty, graduate assistants, and undergraduate students in human-computer communications, intelligent interfaces, neural networks, optical computing, VLSI, robotics, and visualization, in addition to other areas.
