Visual art is a self-conscious response to life, the product of the individual creative process, and a human expression of thoughts, emotions, and values. Four options are available for students wishing to pursue a degree in art: Bachelor of Arts in Art, Bachelor of Arts in Art History, Bachelor of Arts in Art History/Art Studio, and Bachelor of Fine Arts.
- The B.F.A. degree allows students to receive a certificate in graphic design or interior design after completing courses at Sinclair Community College.
- Five areas of concentration are offered for students pursuing the professional studio bachelor of fine arts: drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. B.F.A. candidates are required to have their work evaluated by faculty and peers.
- Students wishing to teach art in grades K–12 should complete the B.F.A. program and the undergraduate sequence of education classes and school placements*. Candidates complete the graduate-level program in the College of Education and Human Services to become eligible for licensure.
