Presidential Search

Campus visits for Wright State presidential candidates planned for February 2-9

Dear Wright State University community,

I am pleased to announce that three finalists for the position of president of Wright State University will visit campus in early February.

Each of our finalists is a talented and skilled individual with unique experiences and backgrounds. I am excited for you to meet our candidates.

Each finalist will spend time at the Dayton Campus and Lake Campus meeting with students, staff, faculty, administrators, the Board of Trustees, and community leaders.

Presentations and forums with each candidate are planned with students, staff, faculty, and research constituencies at both campuses.

The candidates will visit Wright State on the following days:

  • First Candidate: February 2-4
  • Second Candidate: February 5-7
  • Third Candidate: February 7-9

The full schedule of public events is available on our presidential search website: https://www.wright.edu/presidential-search/candidate-visits.

Each of our finalists is a currently sitting university president. Out of respect for their current positions, we promised to maintain confidentiality of their candidacy until just before their visit to our campus and accordingly will announce each candidate online and in a campus email at noon the day before each arrives.

Finalists were selected from a candidate pool of 61 exceptional individuals who applied to be the university's seventh president, recruited with the support of our search partner, Academic Search.

Interest from the campus community in the presidential search has been tremendous, and I want to thank all of you who have helped the search committee.

Your voice and input are critical as we enter this stage of our search so I encourage you to consider attending the forums. The search committee will collect feedback for each candidate through online surveys.

The presentations and forums will be streamed live and archived online for those who cannot attend in person. Supervisors and managers are asked to provide employees with the time to participate in campus events as business conditions allow.

As a reminder, the objective of the Presidential Search and Screening Advisory Committee is to present the Wright State Board of Trustees with one or more highly qualified and acceptable candidates from whom to choose Wright State University's seventh president. We believe our three finalists are top candidates and meet this definition and we are excited to bring them to campus.

As always, I thank you for your support!

Doug Fecher, Chair
Wright State Presidential Search and Screening Advisory Committee
