First Friday is your opportunity to really get to know your future classmates. You will evaluate majors, connect with staff and faculty, review academic options, and prepare for a successful upcoming academic year. Check back this summer for the location of your open house or contact your college for more information. You can also get your FREE Sea of Green T-shirt at the event.

Freshman Convocation—August 23, 3 p.m.

We invite you and your family to attend this momentous occasion. Think of Convocation as the official moment that you become an active student at Wright State. You will witness the faculty in full academic dress and meet President Hopkins, Provost Narayanan, deans, and other members of the Wright State family.

Freshman Convocation is a formal assembly of Wright State University’s president, provost, deans, faculty, staff, new students, and parents who convene for the purpose of welcoming, celebrating, and recognizing our newest members of the Wright State University community.

Entertainment Tonight reporter, Rocsi Diaz, will serve as keynote speaker for this year's Convocation ceremony. Born in Honduras, the bilingual television personality previously co-anchored BET's flagship show 106 & Park from 2006–2012.

Welcome Week—August 23–September 2

Be prepared to start semesters off the Wright way by participating in our annual Welcome Week and the many events and activities it has to offer. This week will be packed with so many opportunities for new and returning student to learn about WSU, get involved and of course, HAVE FUN!!!

Welcome Week is full of departmental and student organization events and gives opportunities to meet and get to know students, faculty and staff. We will also be providing information booths, tours, and open houses and many other opportunities to learn what Wright State is all about, while celebrating the jump into semesters.
