Return to top ↑Orientation is a program designed to assist students with making the transition to Wright State University. Participation in this new student program will improve students' overall understanding of academic programs, course registration, student life, and university policies and procedures.
Attending Orientation will help set the tone for your entire four-year college experience, so make sure to attend this welcoming, fun, and productive program.
During Orientation, you will:
- Connect with colleges, academic advisors, residence life staff, and current Wright State University students.
- Get hands-on experience using the WINGS/WINGS Express web portal and accessing electronic services.
- Confirm your first academic class schedule with an academic advisor.
- Gain familiarity with the campus resources and get your student ID.
- Get more information about First Weekend and Freshman Convocation, scheduled for the weekend prior to the first week of Fall Quarter classes.
Return to top ↑Yes. All new Wright State University students under the age of 23 who have never attended college are required to attend Orientation.

- Daytime and Saturday sessions: 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Evening Express sessions: 5 to 8 p.m.

Why does my registration form not include all of the above sessions, or have different dates on it?
Return to top ↑Once a registration session is full, it will no longer appear on the registration form. Also, additional dates may be added as necessary. If you are unable to attend one of the dates that appear on your registration form, please call Event Services at (937) 775-5512.
How do I register for Orientation?

What if I can't find my UID and password?
Return to top ↑You received your UID and password in your acceptance letter from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. If you are unable to locate your account information, please contact the CaTS Help Desk at (937) 775-4827 or helpdesk@wright.edu.
How much does Orientation cost?
$75 for you and up to two guests. There is a non-refundable $10 fee for each additional guest beyond the two included. Payment is due when you register. A $75 refund will be issued if your Orientation registration is canceled before 5 p.m. on June 1, 2011. You are able to cancel or reschedule your Orientation date on the registration form.

Do I need to take math and English placement tests before Orientation?
Return to top ↑Yes. Most students will need to take the English and math placement tests, completing them AT LEAST ten business days before their scheduled Orientation date.
Requirements for exceptions are identified on the placement testing website.
How do I cancel or reschedule my Orientation registration?
Return to top ↑You are able to cancel or reschedule your Orientation date on the registration form.
A $75 refund will be issued if your Orientation registration is canceled before 5 p.m. on June 1, 2011.
