The Ohio Higher Education Computing Council was established in 1976 to build communication and collaboration between the IT departments at higher education institutions in Ohio and the greater region. Started initially as a meeting of senior managers at the universities in the state, it has expanded to include all IT staff members at universities, community colleges and other institutions from around the region.

OHECC 2009

This year’s conference will take place March 25-27 at Wright State University. Our campus is located near the city of Dayton and Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Major attractions in the area include the Air Force Museum and the Wright Brothers Shop. The WSU OHECC 2009 Planning Committee invites you to help make the Ohio Higher Education Computing Council OHECC Conference 2009 the most rewarding and memorable event yet by sharing your experiences, best practices and major challenges.

Call for Proposals

OHECC 2009 Innovate to Transform continues an exciting new era for OHECC conferences. This conference is being planned by a cross-university program committee dedicated to creating a conference with content of value to every IT professional in higher education in Ohio and neighboring states. The conference will provide a forum for sharing best practices and expertise as well as exploring legal, environmental, and technology challenges we all face. To submit a presentation proposal, use the "Call for Proposals Form" below.

What Makes a Good Presentation?

Topics should be of broad interest to IT departments at schools across Ohio and the region. Consider the differences between campuses large and small and focus on the common challenges we all face. If discussing particular technology products, consider how the information can be applied to similar tools and solutions. Keep information concise and to the point, allowing time for questions and discussion. Breakout sessions are scheduled for 45 minutes.

Submitting Your Proposal

Please use the online form to submit your presentation proposal by going to the OHECC 2009 website, located at and selecting the “Call for Proposals” link. The submission deadline is February 2nd.
