Nursing Council
Nursing Council is a student organization by pre-nursing students and students that
have been accepted into the College of Nursing & Health, for the students of the
College. It has been around for a number of years and this year we are doing some
major reconstruction to make it a stronger and established organization! We are an
umbrella organization of Student Government (SG). We are advocates for the students
bringing issues among our campus and SG to the College of Nursing & Health as well
as utilizing the SG to help better the College of Nursing & Health.
Some of the issues that may be addressed are parking, food services, safety on campus,
the nursing shortage, recruitment and retention, ways to get Nursing students more
involved, networking, and recognition. Also NC will work with other WSU CoNH organizations
to host fundraisers, events, community service, leadership directives, and ways to better
serve the students, faculty, and staff at Wright State University, College of Nursing & Health.
How can I get involved?
Anyone is welcome and encouraged to come to our meetings and help plan events! There are
also many leadership positions, including a senate position on Student Government itself.
This person serves as our liaison between Nursing Council and Student Government. There are
also officer positions:
Elections
Elections for the new officers will be the third week in the Fall quarter (TBA). Since
our club is being "re-built," regular elections will be in the Spring and their term will
start in the Fall of the following school year. NC will meet once or twice a month at a
time set by the officers.
Why should I get involved?
The benefits are endless...leadership skills that will not only benefit you while you
are in school but in your nursing career and life, networking, meeting new people on
campus, being a stronger critical thinker, the satisfaction of helping your University,
College, and Community and among many others, FUN!!
