This audio streamed lecture and handout covers the nursing care of individuals with substance use disorders including an overview, discussion of etiology and application of the nursing process. Dual disorders and family issues are also discussed. It can be used to prepare a pre-licensure nursing student for clinical practice, or as a supplement to classroom teaching. This material was developed by Ms. June Tierney, MS, APRN,BC while on the faculty in the Wright State University-Miami Valley College of Nursing and Health.
