Nursing Care of Clients Experiencing Shock
This module includes an audio streamed lecture on the nursing care of clients experiencing shock with the basic pathogenesis progression of shock, and different kinds of shock including hypovolemic, obstructive, vasogenic, anaphylactic, neurogenic, and sepsis followed by MODS. Accompanying the lecture is an outline and diagrams illustrating the progression of shock. This audio streamed lecture and accompanying notes can be used to supplement classroom lessons and texts to help pre-licensure nursing students prepare to care for adult clients experiencing shock . This material was developed by Gina Maiocco, PhD, RN, CCRN, CCNS, while she was faculty in the Wright State University-Miami Valley College of Nursing and Health.
