General Policies
Cancellation of Continuing Education Activities
Courses and continuing education activities with low enrollment may be canceled one to two
weeks before the beginning of the offering. The Center for Continuing Nursing Education
will notify registrants and provide a full refund. The university will not be liable for
expenses related to planning to attend an event.
A course, workshop, class session, or activity may be canceled in the event of an emergency such
as instructor illness or severe weather conditions. It is the responsibility of the instructor
of record and the Center for Continuing Nursing Education to communicate with one another as
quickly as possible about the need for cancellation, and to discuss possible rescheduling and
other details.
After verifying the cancellation or closing, the Center for Continuing Nursing Education
will attempt to call each student, and will follow-up with an electronic message or letter
to confirm the cancellation when possible.
During severe weather conditions, the Center for Continuing Nursing Education follows
university policies regarding cancellations. If the university closes, classes on campus are
canceled. Classes off campus are canceled if the location where the class is held is closed.
Please note that off campus classes are not necessarily canceled when the university closes
nor are campus classes necessarily canceled when off campus sites are closed.
The Center for Continuing Nursing Education will also contact television and radio stations
outside the immediate Dayton area (e.g. Celina, Cincinnati) to announce cancellations.
Registration fees will be applied to a re-scheduled event.
Refunds
Withdrawing from or dropping an undergraduate and graduate course follows published university
procedures regarding refund of registration for credit courses.
Refunds for registration for a continuing education contact hour activity are given if notice
is received at least two weeks prior to the start of the event. An administrative fee of $10
will be retained unless otherwise noted in advertising material.
Replacement of Verification of Attendance
Participants are required to maintain documentation of attendance at continuing education
activities. In the case of a lost certificate, attendees can request verification of
attendance at a continuing education activity by sending a request with name of attendee,
title of event, approximate date, current address, and a $5 replacement fee. Checks should
be made payable to WSU-CoNH.
