WEGMANN RECEIVES THE
OUTSTANDING ALUMNI ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Richard M. Wegmann has been awarded the Wright State University 1999 Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award.
Wegmann received an MBA in finance from Wright State University in 1982. Wegmann is the chairman and CEO of Digital Concepts, Inc., an information technology services firm that provides software development and systems integration services to manufacturers, distribution and government organizations.
He serves on the boards for the Dayton Ballet, the Engineering and Science Foundation (ESF) and the Armed Forces Communication-Electronics Association (AFCEA). He serves as the Vice President for Education for AFCEA and directs the scholarship and grant making activities for that organization. AFCEA has provided over $450,000 in the past ten years. In 1994, he received AFCEA’s Meritorious Service Award at their Annual Conference in Washington D.C. for his contributions to AFCEA.
He is also a member of the Downtown Dayton Rotary Club, the Electronics Equipment Manufacturer’s Group and a life member of the WSU Alumni Association. He is an active member of the Dayton Chamber of Commerce and over the past 10 years has supported the Chamber’s Annual Leadership visit to Washington D.C. He served as president of the Engineer’s Club of Dayton in 1992 and as president of the Engineering and Science Hall of Fame in 1993.
Over the past four years, Wegmann has volunteered to assist WSU’s Annual Corporate Appeal. In 1997 and 1998, the team he led made the highest percentage of visits and raised the most money for the university.
Wegmann is married and has two children. Outside of his numerous activities, he also finds time to coach his daughter’s basketball team.
The Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award is given annually to a Wright State graduate who has attained a significant level of achievement in his or her field, has demonstrated a positive impact at a local, state or national level and possesses the highest standards of integrity and character.
