WSU BOARD OF TRUSTEES APPROVES
NEW FEES FOR FALL QUARTER 1998

The Wright State University Board of Trustees today approved tuition and fee increases for students at the main campus in Dayton and the WSU-Lake Campus in Celina. Beginning in the fall quarter of 1998, undergraduate tuition and fees will increase by 6 percent at the main campus and by 3 percent at the WSU-Lake Campus. Full-time graduate tuition and fees will increase by 9 percent.

The increase is expected to generate $3.3 million for the university next year. The additional funds will be used to enhance technology, increase financial aid for students and pay salaries and benefits, according to Barry O. Johnson, assistant vice president for communications and marketing. Wright State's Board of Trustees has a policy that seeks to keep WSU's tuition costs in the mid-range of charges at Ohio's four-year public universities. Even with this increase, Wright State will remain at the midpoint.

The 6 percent increase for full-time resident undergraduate students at the main campus means tuition and fees will increase by $74, from $1,236 to $1,310 per quarter. Nonresident undergraduate tuition and fees will increase by $148, from $2,472 to $2,620 per quarter.

At the WSU-Lake Campus, tuition and fees for full-time resident undergraduate students will increase by $32, from $1,090 to $1,122 per quarter. Nonresident undergraduate tuition and fees will increase by $106, from $2,326 to $2,432 per quarter.

Tuition and fees for full-time resident graduate students at the main campus will increase by $140, from $1,563 to $1,703 per quarter. Nonresident graduate tuition and fees will increase by $214, from $2,799 to $3,013 per quarter.

At the WSU-Lake Campus, tuition and fees for full-time resident graduate students will increase by $129, from $1,440 to $1,569 per quarter. Nonresident graduate tuition and fees will increase by $203, from $2,676 to $2,879 per quarter.
