STEPHANIE SMITH NAMED DIRECTOR
OF ANNUAL GIVING AT WRIGHT STATE
Wright State University has named Stephanie (Corbean) Smith director of annual giving. She will manage a comprehensive annual giving program that includes the annual solicitation of alumni, friends and parents for the support of Wright State and its colleges, schools and programs. Previously, Smith was assistant director of the annual fund at the University of Dayton. Before that, she was director of development for the American Heart Association, where she initiated the first annual Heart Ball. She also developed and successfully marketed underwriting for the “Neighbor to Neighbor” campaign.
Smith is a 1991 graduate of Wright State with a B.A. in organizational communications. While a Wright State student, she edited a volunteer newsletter at Children’s Medical Center and coordinated a summer volunteer program for teens. Smith has been on the board of the Miami Valley chapter of the National Society of Fundraising Executives, and editor of Dividends, the organization’s newsletter.
