WRIGHT STATE OFFERS SEMINARS
FOR SMALL BUSINESSES

The U.S. Small Business Administration cites four basics of success in small business: sound management practices, industry experience, technical support and planning ability. Few people start a business with all these bases covered, but free help is available for those who want to increase the odds of their business succeeding.

Wright State University's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is again offering information sessions for those looking to start a new business or grow an existing business. These seminars acquaint existing and prospective business owners with information on the resources, requirements and assistance available for starting a small business. Areas of assistance available to small business owners include: finance and accounting, marketing, sales and advertising, operations management, government procurement, business law, international trade and human resource management. Often after an information session, business owners begin one-on-one counseling with volunteer faculty and local business professionals provided by Wright State's Center for Small Business Assistance.

The Small Business Development Center is offering information sessions on Thursday, Oct. 7; Thursday, Nov. 4; and Thursday, Dec. 2; from 9 to 11 a.m. in Room 219 of WSU's Rike Hall. Sessions are free of charge, but reservations are required. For more information or to register, contact the Small Business Development Center at (937) 775-3503. Information is also available on the World Wide Web at www.docp.wright.edu/sbdc.
