WRIGHT STATE OFFERS ELECTRONIC
ACCESS TO STUDENT RÉSUMÉS
Prospective employers from around the world can review the résumés of hundreds of Wright
State University alumni and student job-seekers and screen out all but the most qualified
without ever having to advertise a position opening, internship or co-op job, thanks to a free
web site developed by the WSU Office of Career Services.
Employers can define exactly the qualifications they seek and review a list of students or alumni who meet those qualifications, according to Brian Maxwell, associate director of career services. Clicking on a name on that refined list will bring up the applicant's résumé. If employers want to invite a someone for an interview, they have the choice of contacting applicants directly or arranging interviews through career services.
"Employers can look whenever they want," Maxwell says. Résumé listings are updated constantly, and employers can get to the postings anytime. "This is 24-hours-a-day, seven days-a-week accessibility."
Wright State students and alumni enjoy several benefits with the new system. Their résumés can be quickly and easily updated from their home computers and, Maxwell adds, "They can actually see where their résumés have been referred." That can give job applicants an opportunity to follow up with prospective employers or prepare for a possible interview.
There is no charge for the service to WSU students and alumni or prospective employers, but anyone who wants to use the site will need to register with the Office of Career Services.
To register or find out more about the web site, contact Maxwell at (937) 775-2105 or e-mail him at bmaxwell@wright.edu. The career services home page may be found at http://career.wright.edu.
