JACQUELINE MCMILLAN RECOGNIZED
FOR EXTRAORDINARY SERVICE TO WRIGHT STATE


Jacqueline McMillan, assistant dean for minority affairs in the Wright State School of Medicine, is the recipient of the President's Special Recognition Award for "extraordinary service to Wright State University."

McMillan has been at Wright State since December of 1989 and has previously served as the assistant to the director of Medical Student Education and director of recruitment for student affairs. As assistant dean, McMillan is responsible for student affairs, minority affairs and financial aid in the Wright State School of Medicine. A speaker on the topic of diversity, McMillan has gained national recognition in the areas of recruitment/retention and in diversity issues.

"Jacci has effortlessly taken the Office of Financial Aid in the School of Medicine, combined these functions with minority affairs and recruitment and has developed a completely positive reputation for the office in a relatively short time period," said Wright State president Harley Flack. "Her advising and counseling skills are truly exceptional and she spends extra hours working one-on-one with students who need an extra amount of support and encouragement."
