ETTA HOLLINS APPOINTED PROFESSOR
AT WRIGHT STATE UNIVERSITY

Etta Hollins Etta R. Hollins, Ph.D., has been appointed professor and associate dean for teacher education in the College of Education and Human Services at Wright State University. She will be responsible for supervising linkages with public school districts.

Previously, Hollins was chair of the Department of Teaching and Learning at Washington State University. She has taught university courses in social foundations, multicultural education and curriculum development. Her scholarship focuses on identifying ways to better prepare teachers for culturally diverse school settings.

Hollins' background also includes 20 years as a teacher and administrator in public schools. She has consulted school districts across the nation on issues related to teaching culturally diverse populations.

"Wright State is fortunate to have a scholar of Dr. Hollins' stature join us at this time," said Greg Bernhardt, dean of the College of Education and Human Services. "Her background is an ideal match with the direction the college wishes to take. Her experience in working through issues of teaching and learning with diverse learners will be particularly applicable to issues confronting educators in the Miami Valley."
