WSU'S G-TRADE PROGRAM WINS
INNOVATION IN BUSINESS EDUCATION AWARD
The Wright State University College of Business and Administration's G-Trade Program has
received an Innovation in Leadership of Business Education Award from the Mid-Continent
East Business Administration of the American Association of Collegiate Schools of Business
(AACSB), the accreditation body for colleges of business in the U.S.
G-Trade, a collaboration between Wright State University's College of Business and Administration, area businesses and economic development organizations, provides a comprehensive package of services to educate, train and assist area companies in the global marketplace. G-Trade offers area businesses an extensive International Trade Resource Center; hands-on, one-to-one trade counseling to trade-ready businesses in the Miami Valley; and an International Trade Certificate Program designed to assist business professionals in developing international trade skills.
The Wright State program competed against programs from nine other colleges for one of three awards. Wright State placed second, behind DePaul University and ahead of the University of Wisconsin/Parkside, which placed third. Last year, the first year Wright State entered, the university received a third place award for Project Chile, a 10-month internship in international trade that assigns a WSU student to a Chilean company to develop an international trade plan.
"Winning this award two years in a row is strong proof that Wright State University is offering innovative programs that meet both the academic and business needs of the community," said Jeffrey F. Meyer, associate director of WSU's International Trade Programs. "We will continue to bring innovative programs to our students and Miami Valley businesses to help ensure they have the tools they need to be successful well into the next century."
