GOVERNOR NAMES
WSU STUDENT TRUSTEE
Jeffrey S. Gardner, a Wright State University student majoring in mechanical engineering, has been appointed to a two-year term as student trustee on the WSU Board of Trustees. His term begins July 1. Gardner has also served as the student government representative for the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS), coordinated student activities for National Engineers' Week, and chaired the Wright Engineering Council Representative Assembly.
His other activities include membership on WSU's Enrollment Planning Council, the Undergraduate Curriculum and Academic Policy Committee, and an instructor for Engineering 101, a 90-student freshman orientation course. Gardner has also been president of the Chemistry Club and director of industrial relations for the Wright Engineering Council.
"Being in student government has been an interesting experience," Gardner says. "Being a student trustee is the next step past student government."
Gardner is scheduled to graduate from Wright State in December with a B.S. in mechanical engineering and a minor in materials science and engineering. He received the Wright State Outstanding Senior Leader Award, the CECS Dean's Award, and has been on the dean's list. He has also been named an Ohio Space Grant Consortium Scholar.
