WRIGHT STATE'S G-TRADE WINS
PROGRAM EXCELLENCE AWARD
Wright State University's G-Trade program was awarded the Program Excellence Award by
the National Association of Small Business International Trade Educators (NASBITE) at its
annual conference in Fort Worth, Texas, on April 5-8. The first-ever award by NASBITE
recognizes outstanding and innovative developments in the area of international trade
education, counseling, training and research.
G-Trade, a collaboration between Wright State University's College of Business and Administration, area businesses and economic development organizations, provides a comprehensive package of services to educate, train and assist area companies in the global marketplace. G-Trade offers area businesses an extensive International Trade Resource Center, hands-on, one-to-one, trade counseling to trade-ready businesses in the Miami Valley and an International Trade Certificate Program designed to assist business professionals in developing international trade skills.
Wright State's G-Trade competed against other schools with international trade education programs nationwide. "This award recognizes G-Trade's innovative combination of education, counseling services, a comprehensive resource center and an international trade certificate program for business professionals," said Jeffrey F. Meyer, director of WSU's International Trade Programs.
G-Trade continues to provide outreach to the business community, linking the local community and the university according to Meyer. "We recently completed another successful round with our International Trade Certificate program, awarding trade certificates to business professionals from Mead, NCR, Systran and other area businesses," Meyer said. "And the state of Ohio's International Trade Assistance Center in Dayton recently contracted with G-Trade to provide their international trade counseling."
G-Trade was recently awarded the Innovation in Leadership of Business Education award for the second consecutive year from the Mid-Continent East Business Administration of the American Association of Collegiate Schools of Business, the accreditation body for colleges of business in the U.S.
