WSU ENSEMBLES SELECTED TO PERFORM AT OMEA CONFERENCE
Four Wright State University Department of Music performing ensembles have been selected to perform at the 1999 Annual Conference of the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) in Cincinnati in February.
This year the OMEA will also co-host the regional conference of the Music Educators National Conference (MENC). This means that ensembles from eight states were competing for the opportunity to perform. To have four ensembles selected to perform from the almost four hundred ensembles which submitted audition tapes is a great honor for the Department of Music and for Wright State.
The ensembles are the WSU Women's Chorale, Dr. Hank Dahlman, conductor; the WSU Men's Chorale, Dr. James Tipps, conductor; the WSU Saxophone Quartet, Ms. Shelley Jagow, conductor; and the WSU Chamber Orchestra, Dr. Jackson Leung, conductor.
