WSU’S DEBORAH VETTER TO PARTICIPATE
IN BRYN MAWR SUMMER INSTITUTE FOR WOMEN

Deborah Vetter of Wright State University has been selected by Bryn Mawr College to participate in its Summer Institute for Women in Higher Education. Vetter is the director of faculty development operations in the School of Medicine’s Office of Faculty and Clinical Affairs.

Vetter, a 10-year veteran of Wright State University, performs a variety of functions in the School of Medicine. She directs a school-wide faculty development program, and plays an integral role in coordinating the School of Medicine’s research opportunities. Vetter, who has a master’s degree in communication disorders, uses her unique understanding of group dynamics to help groups increase their productivity and develop strategic plans. She also serves as the editor of two School of Medicine newsletters, The Triple Threat and The Investigator. Vetter’s work earned her the President’s Award for Excellence and Innovation in 1995.

The Bryn Mawr institute strives to enrich the leadership of higher education by providing participating women faculty and administrators with intensive instruction in higher education’s academic and institutional aspects, as well as professional development. The purpose of the institute, now in its 24th year, is to improve the status of women in the middle and executive levels of education adminstration.

Bryn Mawr chooses participants who demonstrate a potential for professional advancement from candidates nominated by their universities. Vetter is the ninth administrator from Wright State to attend the institute. The program runs from June 27 through July 23.
