WSU PROFESSOR WITH SCHOLARSHIP

Hi-res image For more than 20 years, Roger Brucker has impressed upon his marketing students at Wright State University the importance of making a contribution to the ir field, their community and to the world at large. Now, thanks to a new scholarship in his name, the good impression he has made on his students, fellow faculty members and colleagues in the business world will be lasting.

An adjunct professor in Wri ght State’s College of Business and Administration since 1975, and former owner of Odiorne Industrial Advertising, Inc., (OIA) Brucker was honored March 1st by his successors at OIA/LONG Communications, Inc., with an annual $1,000 scholarship in his name. Even as he leaves teaching and phases out his business career, the name Roger Brucker will continue to ring with the enthusiasm he always had for every facet of marketing.

“Roger is a truly fine man. He always had such a passion for his students,” sai d Tom Dovel, chair and associate professor of marketing. “He was dedicated and always enthusiastic about teaching, while at the same time, he was the successful owner of his own industrial advertising firm.”

The annual merit scholarship will be given “ in perpetuity” to a graduate marketing major at Wright State “who has shown ongoing enthusiasm for the positive application of marketing to problem solution and is dedicated to a contributive marketing career,” said Dovel. The scholarship winner, to be ch osen by faculty in the Department of Marketing, will be announced at Wright State’s Marketing Awards luncheon May 21.
