The Wolf is on the Prowl New Wright State Logo Pays for Scholarships Since the new WSU Raider wolf was unveiled last October, the Wright State athletic mascot has generated a 22 percent increase in royalty revenue over the past fiscal year. As a result, approximately $15,000 in student scholarships provided by the trademark licensing program will be distributed this year. Funded by the 7.5 percent royalty fee received from the sale of the university's official products, scholarships will be given to 16 students selected by the departments of athletics, financial aid and WSU's Lake Campus.
"With the increase in retail sales and the sales of the plates, we should be able to fund even more scholarships next year," said Sally Clayton, trademark licensing coordinator. |
