With its picture ID and magnetic strip, the Wright One card is similar to a debit card - users can deposit money into their Wright One account and draw upon those funds simply by presenting the Wright One card at participating locations on campus. Just like students, faculty and staff will have the option of depositing money in the bursar's office for a food service account or a general purchase account - or both. Visitors to the university will also have the option of depositing cash at the ValuePort, located in the Student Union atrium, to purchase their own card. The Wright One card is free. Beginning in February, faculty and staff who want to take advantage of the card can exchange their old IDs for a free Wright One card in the ID Center located in E140 Student Union. If the card is lost, just one call to the ID center, 775- 5542, will deactivate the card. By the end of spring quarter, the Wright One card will be available for use in the campus dining facilities (excluding the Nutter Center), Wright State Bookstore, Wright Copy, the ID Center, all Student Union vending machines and copy machines. In the fall of 1997, all campus vending machines and public copiers on campus will accept the card.
How does a food account differ from a general account? Money placed in a food account can only be spent in food service areas. Money placed in a general account can be spent in food service areas as well as all other locations accepting the Wright One card, |
including: bookstore, vending machines and copy
machines.
Can I transfer funds from my general account to my food service account? When your food service account reaches zero, money will be automatically transferred from your general account, if funds are available. However, when your general account reaches zero, money will not be transferred from your food service account and the transaction will not be completed. Who do I contact if I have a problem with my Wright One card? If your card is damaged, go to the ID office, E140 Student Union. If a problem occurs reading the card, contact the manager of the area in which you are using the card. How do I add points to the Wright One card? You can add money to your account by going to the bursar's office or by inserting dollar bills in the ValuePort. If you only want to add food service money, you must go to the food service office, W106 Student Union, until August 1997. After this date, the bursar's office will add all points to your card. What do I do if my card is lost? Call the ID Center, 775-5542, immediately, and your account will be placed on hold. That way, if someone finds your card, he or she will not be able to use it. You are responsible for anything that happens to your new Wright One card. Can I use it as a telephone calling card? By completing an application at the time you are issued your new card, a telephone credit card can be activated. A telephone PIN number will be assigned once the application is received by the long-distance carrier. The credit card calling service is a contract between the card holder and the long-distance carrier. Can the balance on my Wright One card account be refunded to me? Refunds can be made under special circumstances. Faculty and staff refunds will be provided upon completion of a written request. How can I determine the balance on my Wright One card account? Simply swiping your Wright One card at the bursar's office, vending machines, copier machines or ValuePort will provide your account balance on the unit's display panel. Cash registers at food service locations can provide the balance on your food account. How long is my Wright One card valid? Your Wright One card and the university ID card are the same. As long as you are eligible to carry a university ID, value can be added and spent from your Wright One card. |
