Kappa Phi Honor Society is celebrating its 100th anniversary by recognizing
academic excellence with a university-wide Scholarship Recognition Conference
May 29.
"Governor Voinovich has declared the week of April 13-19 as national Phi Kappa Phi Week," said Jack Dustin, chair of the Department of Urban Affairs and Geography and president of the WSU chapter of Phi Kappa Phi., the oldest and largest national honor society in the U.S. "Phi Kappa Phi has more than 275 university chapters and has honored more than 675,000 scholars.
"The society invites faculty, staff, students and alumni to participate in, and attend, the conference," said Dustin. "We hope to have representation from all colleges."
Conference presentations, including demonstrations, performances, poster and multi-media presentations and research papers, will be held at concurrent sessions in the Student Union throughout the day.
Those wishing to participate are asked to submit a proposal of the scholarship they would like to present by April 14. Applications forms and details are available from Marka Fields, conference coordinator, in 177 Millett Hall, at 775-4453, or e-mail at s001mnf@discover.wright.edu.
